Cabbage Soup Diet - Day Six

Wow....we've made it this far. On day six, we could substitute beef for chicken or fish, have green leafy vegetables and soup. We overdosed on beef yesterday, so we decided to have fish this time.

We had the soup for breakfast to get that out of the way. For lunch, Sandi cooked her favorite fish, Halibut. It was not cheap, though on sale at the local Ralph's market, it was still $19.00/lb. She seasoned the fish with chili powder, rosemary and lemon slices then popped it in the oven. I squeezed a lot of lemon and added salt to my piece. It was flaky, tender and delicious. We had it with sauteed spinach and asparagus. The size of the fish did make us full.

In between meals, we studied our Italian and went to church. When we got home from church, it was time for dinner. Sandi made more fish. This time it was Catfish. Catfish is so good breaded and fried but we could not do that so we squeezed some lemon on them and she sprinkled some blackened seasoning on one side and fried it a bit in a pan with Pam. She then finished cooking them in the oven. Only one side had the seasoning. The fish was nice and tender but we both agreed that it might have been better to skip the oven and stick to frying both sides. We had the catfish with mixed vegetables and more asparagus.

It was a filling dinner but incomplete. Dessert would have been a good finale. We are looking forward to our last day, Domani!
