Di Pescara

This Italian restaurant is located at 2124 Northbrook Court in Northbrook, Illinois. We had dinner reservations for 5:30 pm for 9 but some people at our party were still in downtown Chicago at 5:00 pm so we had to cancel our reservations.

By the time we got everyone organized, it was almost 8 p.m. We looked up the menu online and everyone turned their orders in. Alma and I picked up the rather large order.

Deepa, the vegetarian member of the family ordered a Caesar Salad,  Sweet Potato Roll (tempura) and a bowl of Cream of Tomato Basil Soup. Ross had the Black Angus Rib Eye, peppercorn crust with onion rings.  Ryan and Nirav decided on the House Made Potato Gnocchi, Italian chicken sausage, wild mushrooms in parmesan broth. I got to try this and it was good.

I liked what I ordered; Shell Pasta with Shrimp in a tomato-vodka sauce. Shrimps were big and tender. Alma had the Lobster Pappardelle which was cooked in a tomato-basil cream sauce with peas.  Raymond ordered the same thing but didn't get to try anything as he was already sound asleep when we got home.

One order of pasta should be good enough for 2 people. Even with a bunch of hungry men, we still had left overs. In fact, shortly after dinner, the men went to sleep!
