Never been to this place before. My brother has been to their other restaurant, Adoteca in Brentwood. They also have Ado in Venice. This place, Casa Ado is very dark. Romantic perhaps but not good lighting for bloggers. Our charming server Franco offered to get us an extra candle. My mom was quite smitten with him and told him he was "simpatico".
Unfortunately, my mom and I had a big lunch earlier so we did not feel like having an appetizer, soup or salad. I ended up ordering the Fettuccine Al Sugo di Cinghiale alla Maremmana. Translation for the non Italian speaking person; Tagliatelle noodle sauteed with braised wild boar in a red wine reduction sauce. That was very good. I have had wild boar ragu many times in different restaurants. Don't think it would be tough or gamey. They make excellent ragus.
My mom and Gary had the Tagliolini Rossi con Ragu Di Pollo Alla Marsala. Translated is red beet tagliolini noodles served with chicken marsala ragu in a bed of parmesan fondue. That was absolutely delicious. I would definitely order this next time and not share it with anyone. The red beet pasta was not only pretty but intriguing and quite flirtatious. The marsala ragu worked very well with the parmesan fondue.
Since we did not have any appetizers, we thought we could indulge in some desserts. We decided to order the Tiramisu and the Panna Cotta Espresso. Both desserts were excellent; not sweet , just a lot of the coffee flavor. (Sandi's worse nightmare) Three of us inhaled both desserts.
We were all very happy with everything. Great food and excellent service. What more can I ask for...perhaps a little more light to see the beauty of the food. Casa Ado is at 12 Washington Blvd. in Marina Del Rey, California.
