French Corner Cafe

If you appreciate art and love desserts, you might want to check out the French Corner Cafe in Palm Desert, California.  The deserts are so beautiful that you won't want to take the first bite.  They are as good as it looks.

My friend and I had reservations for dinner and after shopping at T.J. Maxx mid afternoon, we thought we could eat something light. When we studied the menu, we both decided to just split a brie bacon burger and order dessert.

The burger was was juicy, delicious and filling.  So when it was time to order dessert, we had to decide on one since it was just a few hours before dinner.  The charming owner, Marc suggested we have the Mother's Day special which was white chocolate, with strawberry.  They only make this "flower pot" work of art once a year.  All I can say is I wish we had Mother's Day every day!

On our way out, we got 2 almond croissant with almond cream for breakfast the following day.  I also got a lemon meringue for snack.

The following day, we had the almond croissant with our coffee at our hotel room. It was good and filling since they were quite big.  The lemon meringue had just the right tartness which complemented the buttery crust and the light slightly chewy meringue.

For your information, they not only have sandwiches but salads, quiches and crepes and an array of pastries.

Next time you are at the desert, do not miss this cafe at the Desert Crossing Center.
