The Blvd

This was my 2nd time in 2 months dining at The Blvd at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. This time we were a bigger group and because of that, they suggested a prix fixe menu.

The ambiance at this restaurant is very nice. It is nice for a group and intimate enough for a romantic dinner. It is also an interesting place to watch and observe people plus the food ain't too bad!

Our first course was a Persimmon & Pear Salad with prosciutto, gorgonzola with an aged balsamic reduction. This had a beautiful presentation and was good as it looked. For our entree, we had a choice of the Branzino with artichokes, lobster mushrooms, sugar snap peas and asparagus or the Filet Mignon with sauteed chanterelle mushrooms, bone marrow crust, fingerling potatoes, swiss chard and braised oxtail. Both entrees were very edible and couldn't really complain about anything. Our one vegetarian relative had some lentil entree which almost looked edible to me.

The third course, the dessert was an Apple Temptation: winter spiced gala apple with cinnamon and a calvados sorbet. A for presentation B for taste.

While we were waiting for our dessert, I had to pet Alma's Judith Leiber frog. Somehow, I thought that maybe by petting this beautiful creature, he would turn into a prince or perhaps Richard Gere.....no dice!
