We recently had lunch at Seasons 52 in Costa Mesa. I was told they have 2 other locations in Southern California; one in Santa Monica and the other in San Diego. In addition to these locations, they have numerous restaurants all over the states.
It was a beautiful day and the restaurant was full. They sat us in a covered outdoor patio. The Blackened Steak & Blue Cheese Flatbread sounded good with cremini mushrooms, spinach, and caramelized onions. The Lobster & Fresh Mozzarella Flatbread sounded even better with roasted sweet peppers, slivered scallion and lobster sour cream. We did the only intelligent thing to do: order both. They were very good and the flatbread was nice and crispy. We also ordered the Caramelized Brussels Sprouts with crispy bacon, garlic and parmesan crust. It looked delicious but as soon as we had our first bite, we both knew something was wrong. The Brussels sprouts were not cooked. It was hard and yes....hard to chew. So back it went, though our server was apologetic and offered to get us something else but we declined.
In lieu of the raw vegetables, we ordered dessert. They had a variety of mousse type desserts served in small glasses. We tried both the lemon blueberry and the chocolate espresso. Sad to say they looked a lot better than it tasted. The chocolate was way too sweet!
Seasons 52 has an extensive menu. I am sure there is something for everyone.
