H. T. Grill

My neighbor Gerd invited Sandi and me for dinner at H.T. Grill last week. Everyone there knows Gerd, as he frequents this restaurant, and it is one of his favorites. We learned that it was his birthday the week before.

The birthday boy ordered Beer. I had a Moscow Mule and Sandi had a Mango Mimosa. Gerd had lunch before coming, so he was not as hungry as Sandi and I, who had only breakfast. He did encourage us to order a regular meal, as he just wanted their Tacos, which he had had before and were delicious.

Sandi had her favorite dish, Pan-Seared Halibut, which had applewood-smoked bacon, roasted corn risotto, and white wine butter. I had the Pan-Seared Branzino with sautéed spinach, shimeji mushrooms, and lemon buerre blanc sauce, and creamy mashed potatoes. She enjoyed her halibut. I, too, loved my delicate, flaky fish. I was so impressed that Sandi and I agreed that we could and would order that again.

Gerd's favorite server brought him a birthday dessert, which he gladly shared with us.

H.T. Grill has been in existence for a long time. I tend to forget about it since I don't go that way often. H. T. Grill is at 1702 S. Catalina Ave., in Redondo Beach, California.
